Onion Creek Kitchens

“Life, like food, should be savored and celebrated.” Over the years we have seen how the combination of food, family & friends can make some of the simplest events into memorable life moments. At Onion Creek Kitchens we have taken the best from life and food to create culinary experiences that will reward you with amazing kitchen techniques, wonderful recipes, and hopefully, some new friends.

The Kitchen

Our cooking classes and events are held in the "Kitchen in the Grove"--our spectacular, fully equipped, state of the art, commercial kitchen and dining space. (We mean "Kick Ass"!) Classes are geared for all levels of expertise and even include room for those "Spec-tators" in our lives. Come experience the best of food and life at Onion Creek Kitchens at Juniper Hills Farm. We guarantee a great time.

The Land

Located on a sprawling 54-acre ranch we are perched on one of the highest blue-green hills in the area. Vistas of rolling hills and rock outcroppings are studded with oaks and junipers under the big Texas sky. Thoughtfully xero-scaped with native Hill Country flora, the ranch is run entirely by captured rainwater. Special planning and care have been taken to develop and improve the property. The owners placed the property into Wildlife Management 20 years ago, thoughtfully trimming trees, nurturing and reviving their portion of Onion Creek; replanting native grasses and wildflowers and maintaining 30+ bird boxes. Sightings of white-tailed deer, grey fox, jackrabbits, armadillo and raccoons are everyday commonplace. Neighboring peacocks and goats can be sited on long, restful walks, not to mention the resident herd of miniature donkeys-all with "foodie" names. Ask the owners for a package of approved "donkey snacks"!

The Lodging

The well-appointed rooms are thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and solitude. Book shelves stocked with diverse titles, comfy chairs and reading lamps, local art and handmade sinks make for a pleasurable environment. "Four Seasons" mattresses and pillows, luxury spa towels and locally made soaps make your visit all the more enjoyable. At every turn you begin to notice little special touches, homemade granola, chocolates and teas; downy bathrobes and throws; hummingbird feeders, hammocks and swings for nature watching. Don't miss the outdoor lighted cedar arbor with regulation Bocce Ball court or the Infinity edge swimming pool, complete with comfortable lounge chairs, dining table, fireplace and full outdoor kitchen and grill for guest use. Enjoy your rock shower and unwind in the Sauna.
