Favorite Place!

Thank you, Sibby, for a wonderful stay. We feel rejuvenated! I think this was my 15th or so stay with you since 2009, and it is still my favorite place to get away to!

Stephanie

Dear Sibby & Team,

Thanks you SO much for rescuing us from that awful place near New Braunfels!  We loved our Southern Comfort Food weekend with you all at Juniper Hills Farm.  We’ve even made the biscuits and Waldorf Salad since coming home.

This book was a fun read, thanks for the loan from your book shelves.  We hope to visit again soon,

Fondly,

Susan and Ken

Great memories and yummy meals.

When Art and I decided to marry, one of the first decisions we made was to have our luncheon at Juniper Hills Farm!  You, your staff, and the Onion Creek Kitchens team have been instrumental in so many wonderful time together!  Great memories and yummy meals.  Thank you for making this special day so memorable.  We look forward to many more classes with you!

It was a favorite among those who eat everything!

We could not have imagined a more perfect setting for our wedding reception than Juniper Hills Farm!  The food was delicious, the way it was served beautiful and efficient, and the table settings and floral arrangements were just perfect!  Most of all, we appreciate you, Rebecca and the entire team for your graciousness and hospitality .. and friendship!

We have been told by the gluten-free daughter and hubby, that the chocolate cupcake was the best ever.  It will make an appearance at all family celebrations from this day forward!  It was a favorite among those who eat everything too (like us)!

Well done and thank you for making our celebration delicious and memorable!  We look forward to many cooking classes to come!

Love,
Cindy and Art

Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Wow, Sibby!  Thank you so much for sharing the recipe – I will give it a whirl but probably won’t do it justice!  Loved the citrus in the chocolate frosting, such a fun touch!  Would you also mind sharing the type of chocolate that you used for the topping?  That was divine!

Thanks again for hosting such a fantastic celebration for my momma and Art on Saturday!

Best,
Lindsay

We always feel completely pampered when we are there.

Sibby and team, what an incredible time my staff had at Onion Creek Kitchen at Juniper Hills Farm! This was the fourth year you have so graciously hosted us, and this year’s agency retreat was the best yet! That lunch was truly incredible, and the overnight stay for my leadership team was just what we needed to prep for our Friday training. Every single detail of your facility is full of love and caring – we always feel completely pampered when we are there. Keep up the terrific job of making visitors feel totally relaxed, taken care of and truly blessed. You are a gift! Much love from the SFC crew!

Saturday’s dinner and live music were the icing on the cake!

Dear Sibby and Staff at OCK,

Thank you for providing such a wonderful place that 5 ladies from all sides of the US could meet, catch up, relax and celebrate 15 years of friendship after meeting in a small town in NE Oklahoma!  We all had a wonderful time thanks to the oasis you have build!  We hope to be able to keep coming back year after year.  Saturday’s dinner and live music were the icing on the cake!

Sincere thanks,

Kari

This was the best food I have ever eaten, and that’s not hyperbole!  Thank you so much!

An amazing time, amazing place.  Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy it while working on other stuff.  It was a privilege to be here.

It’s very seldom that I have no complaints or suggestions….but this is the time to express my “kudos” to all of you!  I love everything about your place and all the wonderful environment experiences you have to offer.  I love you and everything about Juniper Hills.

I came here looking for my joy and peace and found it.

I have to say one more time how wonderful everything about the accommodations for the OYOU Women’s Retreat was and, especially, that your food was truly the best I have ever eaten! Thank you so very much for your attention to every little detail.
Since you are beekeepers, here is part of a poem by Antonio Muchado, which I love:
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt – marvelous error! –
That I had a beehive
Here inside my heart,
And the golden bees
Were making white combs
And sweet honey
From my old failures.

Best wishes,
Scottie

We didn’t want to leave!

Sibby,

This weekend was wonderful.  My daughters brought me here for my 60th birthday.  They live in Dallas and Houston.  We wanted to have a girls weekend, just us girls.  It was so peaceful and relaxing, we didn’t want to leave.  It was nice for my daughter with two children to get rest and relaxation; my daughter, the accountant, to relax, stress free from  her busy work lift and finally, for me, to have some quality daughter time and pray for all of our blessings and family.  This is a trip I will always remember and hopefully one day bring the rest of the family.  Thanks again,

Eva.

We are a happy group of picnickers!

Good Morning Sibby,

There are no words to express to you how thankful Greg, Alissa, Andy and myself are for the thoughtfulness and generosity shown to us yesterday by you.  For not only providing us with the most delicious picnic food but for having a beautiful table set in the most gorgeous setting.  Your thoughtfulness and generosity touched all our hearts Sibby.  You made this one of THE most special days…for all of us.  We cannot thank you enough for your kindness.

Sibby, the food was fantastic!  Many of your favorites were our favorites, however, we enjoyed every single morsel from the marinated artichokes to the horseradish sauce and every single dish in between.  You are an amazing chef!!
While we tried, we managed to eat about 80% of all that goodness.  I’m very happy to say Greg and I will enjoy and another meal today with some of the leftovers.  Thank you again!  Greg has not stopped talking about the Lemon Chicken.  I’m sure he had a piece for breakfast today!

We felt special yesterday Sibby.  To have someone do something so nice for us is heartwarming.  Thank you so very, very much.  You made the day of four grateful people.

I’ve attached four pictures for you.  We are a happy group of picnickers!

See you again soon,

Love,
Nancy & Greg
Alissa & Andy

The Icing on the cake–warm muffins in the mornings!

Sibby,

We wanted to give you all our deepest gratitude.  We had such a lovely stay and all the small touches made our stay most enjoyable from the milk & juice to essential oil soaps and the icing on the cake –the warm muffins in the mornings!  We saw several birds and made use of the hammock. We look forward to coming back soon!

Vanessa & Alejandro

Thanks for the Delicious Lunch!

On behalf of the Wimberley Garden Club, I want to thank you and your marvelous staff for a truly fabulous experience!  I so regret not being able to enjoy the delicious lunch, but I had to run on to the house and prepare for our happy hour, during which time I heard nothing but rave reviews!  I know for sure many members plan to return to your beautiful retreat with friends.

Warmest Regards,

Janet Bradford

Thanks!

Thank you Sibby!  Thanks so much for your service and hospitality. You made planning so easy. You really do have something special here.  Thank you for helping us celebrate the night before our special day!

Amazing Rehearsal Dinner!

Sibby,

We cannot thank you enough for an absolutely amazing Rehearsal Dinner.  It was truly better than we could have imagined.  From the delicious food to the lovely setting to the wonderful service, everything was perfect and we are so grateful.  We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Sincerely,

Megan and Eric

The Perfect Honeymoon!

Sibby,

Thank you for everything! When we booked at Onion Creek Kitchens, we were looking for a place to do what we loved, yoga, reading and cooking.  We got the perfect honeymoon!  We look forward to coming back with our friends and family soon!

Best wishes,

Krysten “Ally” and John Mitchell Perkins

Houston

Dear Sibby and Colleagues,

This suite and its outdoor settings were so pleasant! In the suite you provided absolutely everything the urban traveler might want. The lunch kits for breakfast are an extraordinary and endearing touch. We enjoyed prowling through the huge variety of wildflowers–the more you look, the more variations you see. And we will marvel at the 20′ tall giant “asparagus” (agave bloom stalk)!!

Thanks for so much for a great weekend!

Spending the day in the dining hall getting ready with my friends was one of my favorite memories of my entire wedding.

Now that the wedding is over, I wanted to take a moment to write you a quick note to tell you how special our stay with you at Juniper Hills was. From the fresh baked pastry delivery in the morning, to the wonderful breakfast & lunch in the dining hall ~ everything was so perfect. All of the casitas were beyond cute and cozy, and we enjoyed all of the little details. You were so welcoming and accommodating to us the entire weekend. I cannot say thank you enough. Spending the day in the dining hall getting ready with my friends was one of my favorite memories of my entire wedding. The setting was so perfect, and so me! The food was absolutely WONDERFUL and some of the best I’ve had, and I love the kitchen + dining hall area. You have truly made it such a special place to retreat. What was so special to me was that it reminded me of my Parent’s place in Brenham, so I felt like I was at home all weekend, which helped keep me stay calm & relaxed.

Thank you again for everything. Matt & I definitely plan to come back and visit soon!!

Take Care,
Alex

I can’t think of a better place for a multi-generational weekend than Juniper Hills Farm!

My family planned a 70th birthday celebration for me: three daughters, four spouses, seven grandchildren.  It was a late October weekend of hiking, swimming in the spectacular pool, loving, and cooking. Our family occupied all of the cabins.   The cooking event included all but the 16 month old….ages 3 to 76.  One of the children has serious allergies and our host, Sibby, adapted the recipes with that in mind.  Even the breakfast treats which were delivered in vintage lunch boxes were free of allergens.

On Friday evening, Sibby created a beautiful space for us adjacent to the pool and fireplace for a carry-in dinner from a Dripping Springs restaurant. (Dripping Springs is known for its cuisine.)  Saturday was for hiking, napping, swimming and then our cooking class.  I chose a meal which we could then all prepare for Thanksgiving or Christmas and it was superb.   On Sunday, we departed – either to San Antonio or Austin and then to the mid-west and both coasts.  SO MEMORABLE!!!!!!

Marcia Hill

We were all so glad to be able to put together such a special event for our Mom’s 70th Birthday.

The weekend could not have been better.  Juniper Hills had something for every age, and we all loved it.  Truly there is something special that comes from cooking together.  Under Sibby and her staff’s tutelage we learned and helped one another to create a beautiful meal.  It was a unique, bonding, and (dare I say even) magical experience for our family.  I can see this as a powerful event for small groups of all kinds.

Sarah Hill-Nelson

“We all had such a fun time – you have the most wonderful place there…”

“Hi Sibby -
The Texas Hill Country Food and Wine Lover’s Paradise, yes, it’s mine! I am so sorry for the trouble. I love that book – I got it several months ago and have given it as a gift to some of my friends. I knew Juniper Hills was in it and I thought it would be a good source of reference in our travels last week. We all had such a fun time – you have the most wonderful place there. Thank you again for your generous donation to The Wilkinson Center event last fall. Carla and I saw the trip and started bidding! The cooking class was terrific and everything was delicious! I think we were all wanting to make some more hot pita bread and shrimp. And a little wine to go along with it:) I learned a lot, but my best take-away was that you are such a relaxed and inventive cook – you make it seem easy and such fun. All the special touches in the cabins and around the grounds are just wonderful – you have a magical place! Thank you again for everything – and thanks for letting me know about my book. By the way, would you mind signing it somewhere?”

Nan Golden

Sibby,
I was right–this is as close to “heaven” as I’ve felt.

I believe we are often drawn to certain places and people for specific reasons. You have created such a beautiful retreat. Your attention to detail and quality were not lost on me. I am a huge fan of the Southwest and Italy. I still hope to visit Bella Vista and pick olives with you! I will try to get into one of your cooking classes-I really want to experience a class and a stay. Thank you so much for the breakfast scones, treats, everything! Massage, sauna room, candles–the incredible silence–even the wind blowing in the morning–I took a walk this morning and enjoyed watching the goats scurry up the hill–and the sweet faced burros are priceless! Thank you for sharing your home and allowing others to escape the world for awhile. I have some friends who would love this place, I shall be in touch!”

Donna Dorsett

Sibby,
I just wanted to follow up with a thank you for the lovely stay at Juniper Hills.

We had such a lovely time and the clean air and beautiful stars were a breath of fresh air from city life. Of course, the bocce court was a wonderful treat for my Italian husband. We had a fine tournament. The freshly baked treats were just that deliciously wonderful treats. They didn’t last long.

You have a beautiful facility from the cabins and vistas and little nooks and crannies to the beautiful infinity pool and outdoor kitchens. The burros were so cute, friendly and fun to watch. We had a ball. Our every need and even a few we didn’t know we had were taken care of with very thoughtful detail. I’ve never been to a retreat where every tiny little detail and pampering was so carefully anticipated and our pampering was so beautifully done that we surrendered to it all. We enjoyed dinner there downstairs (we brought our own) and it was heaven to not have to go anywhere and stand in line, listen to loud music and/or people and merely have the delightful breeze, beautiful stars and warm company. Pure heaven. I would love to come and just spend time painting there. The burro pastel in Casita Azul was fabulous. (My sister and husband stayed there).

We will be back as soon as time and scheduling permits. Good luck in all your endeavors.”

We can’t sing enough praises about our week end at Juniper Farm!

Dear Sibby—- We have returned home–Well, I looked and looked for my “treat box” this am and yesterday am and no one brought one by!! I picked up some orange cranberry scones late today but nothing like you made us each am and these were cold! We are still talking about how good they were! Do you have a recipe book?

We can’t sing enough praises about our week end at Juniper Farm!! We had waited so long for it and were afraid we had built it up too much—-but it WAS BETTER!!! WE loved the security of the place so we could feel free to hike and wander around. We loved the food and the cabin—oh my gosh—the cabin and outdoor shower what a treat!!! And then cooking in your home—-it was truly like coming to visit a relative or having a party with friends and everyone gathering in the kitchen to cook and eat! We felt so at ease and so WELCOME!! Our fish was just the best! You were a great teacher and hostess!

Thank you, Thank you!!! It was wonderful—we have not come back to earth yet!! Vanessa headed back to Dumas and we stayed on the phone all week so empowered now to try lots of new foods and combos. It was really a great weekend—and Mother’s Day to boot!!  Missing Juniper Farms and the wonderful lifestyle you have!!

Thanks for sharing!

Most sincerely,

Linda Vanaman

The first time I was at Juniper Hills Farms and Onion Creek Kitchens was for a Friend’s Party.  The drive out there from Austin alone was beautiful and put me in a good mood.

The house is beautiful– gives the effect of open air all around looking out on the beautiful surroundings.  Giving a peaceful feeling.  The food was outstanding!  Beautifully presented and delicious.  I took the entire rest of the day so I could at least taste everything.  Inquiring about different dishes the chef made everything sound easy to prepare.  Made me want to learn to cook”

Bettie Naylor

What a wonderful evening!

I can’t tell you how very much I enjoyed the cooking class last Saturday. You have such a beautiful place and it was so much fun to meet you, see your wonderful home and learn so much about cooking—and eating! Keep us on your mailing list!”

Cissy Ellis

Sibby, you have taken a beautiful property and turned it into a glorious site.

Every time we drive through your gates we are instantly at peace and in awe of the surroundings.  I can’t wait for the next class!”  John Kerrigan

”Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner last evening-my husband and I had a blast-everything from the location to the wines to the terrific dinner was fabulous and meeting everyone was a treasure–do keep us posted on your cookbook and new products.”

Melody Chatelle and Edward R. Zamora

Dear Sibby,  In February, Rob and I considered booking a southern European vacation.  We decided to pay off our home renovations instead.  So, what an unexpected surprise to experience the Provence of Texas–complete with lavender fields, olive farms, vineyards and fresh produce.

Your home and the surrounding countryside exude a warmth and beauty.  We didn’t feel at all like tourists; but, your personal guests.  Thank you!”

Mary Beth and Rob

We are still talking about our truly memorable evening with you, your gracious hospitality and generosity.

Carol and Chris Adams

The tart cooking class was soooo wonderful!

We had a great time and can’t wait to sign up for another one!”

Karen L. Kahan

We had such a wonderful time Saturday evening, we couldn’t stop talking about it the entire weekend.

We told all of our friends about it and they can’t wait to try it out.  (this would be a perfect idea for a friend’s birthday)  Your house is beautiful and your idea of classes is brilliant!  We have been wanting to take a cooking class for a very long time and are glad we started with you.  Everyone in the group was very nice and lots of fun as well.  I even received some pictures that Jim took of the class.  Anyway, I just wanted to say congratulations on all of your success in this, your bakery and in life.  I really look up to your accomplishments.  Thanks again for a memorable evening.

Tina Castillo

Thank you all so much for the “rest stop” sleep over.  Juniper Hills Farm is wonderful.

It is very obvious that a great deal of love and care was fostered to build your space.  I hope to join in a retreat soon.  Namaste.

Cheryl Johnson

Thank you so much for the wonderful evening.  All the dishes were delicious and thank you for the recipes.  It was fun having family and friends together.  I know Amy will enjoy the Yule Log class.  Hope to see you again soon.  Have a great Thanksgiving week.” Margaret Thompson

”Thank you so much for all your attention on our stay at your beautiful place.  We are already planning another trip when the pool is completed!  Everything was so perfect.  I am so blessed to be your friend.”  Mike Davis

”Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality! It was far more than a cooking class-it was an experience for the senses! Until next time….”

Pat Hernandez

If you ever need a testimonial for the website, cooking classes, recipes, here’s one from me. After my mom and I took the Cooking with Herbs class, I proceeded to make almost every recipe we learned in the class.

My herb garden is now a staple for my cooking. The lemon rosemary cookies get rave reviews everywhere I take them, I used the basil oil for our client holiday gifts last year and the herbed butters for gifts this year. Everyone asks, “Did you MAKE these?” Thanks for giving me the tools to be able to answer, “Why Yes!”

Christy Seals

Dear Sibby,
How do I thank you for all the hospitality and instruction for the Richardson’s Women’s Club Gourmet Class?

We made it back to Richardson just fine but there were no warm scones yesterday morning. What a treat! The class experience was more than I expected (inexperience) and my did we learn and enjoy the food. I am currently looking for some of the ingredients; making my way to buy a lemon juicer like yours; and have the chicken thawed for the cutlets for tonight.

The ladies are planning a scaled down replicate of our experience at Onion Creek Farms for the remaining 32 woman who belong to our group. I will be traveling with my husband at the time of the April meeting.

You are the top not only with cooking, hostessing and as a business woman but also very skilled in leading 11 women!! Thank you for your leadership last Thursday. Everyone wants to come back. And so do I. What a trip that would be for my Granddaughter and me.

Just as soon as I get the photos via attachment I will forwarded them to you.

Fondly,

–
LaRuth Morrow

Thanks again for making this beautiful place to stay. We’ll not soon forget our short time here.

For your Texas hospitality, for all the effort that goes into cooking classes and for maintaining Juniper Hills farm, we’re grateful to have experienced it!
